Interest Meetings (for 7th & 8th grade girls)

Thinking about trying out for the 2018 softball team? Attend an interest meeting listed below at 12:30 PM in the gym.

Tracks 1, 2 & 3: Friday January 12th, 2018
Track 4: Friday January 26th, 2018

Meetings are during 8th grade gear up and 7th grade lunch. 7th graders should buy their lunches first and then report to the gym as close to 12:30 as possible.

* If you are a 6th grade girl who wants to be a manager for the team, see coach Mauder at some point during the school day, any day.

2017 Season Recap

The 2017 softball season has come to an end. The team finished with an impressive overall record of 9-4 and 8-2 in the division, earning them a co-divisional championship! This is the Lady Dolphins' 2nd straight division title, after going undefeated in the division a season ago. This is also the first time in school history the team has won back to back titles!

2017 Game Summaries

5/1/17

The 2017 softball team are co-division champions with a divisional record of 8-2 & 9-4 overall!

This is the Lady Dolphins' 2nd straight division title, after going undefeated in the division a season ago. This is also the first time in school history the team has won back to back titles!

Coach Mauder, Coach Cicco, and Coach Soffa would like to thank all of the young ladies for their hard work and dedication to the team this season. We would also like to thank the parents, staff members, students, and anyone else who supported the team throughout the season. We couldn't have done this without all of your support!

4/27/17

Today, the softball team split their doubleheader with Leesville, losing the first game 6-3, but then winning the second game 8-3! In the first game, the Lady Dolphins’ led for the majority of the game, but errors got the best of the team. After the tough loss, the Lady Dolphins shook it off and came out and dominated game 2. The team is still tied for the division lead with West Millbrook.

Once again, Casey Watkins pitched a great game and Emily Ruth Morgan caught a great game. Casey also struck out 8 batters and Emily Ruth threw out a runner stealing and also made an out at the plate. Megan Lambeth was also very solid on defense, being involved in 11 outs over the two games. At the plate, Cece Leclair led the way getting on base 5 times which included 4 hits and 1 walk.

Combining both games, here is how each player did: Kendall Besley walked twice and scored twice, Casey Watkins had 1 hit, 1 walk, and scored a run, Emily Ruth Morgan had a hit, a walk, and scored a run, Kyara Davis had a hit, a walk, and scored two runs, Cece Leclair had 4 hits, 1 walk, and scored a run, Allie Nazarenko had a hit, Kate Eagan had a hit and scored a run, Megan Lambeth had 2 hits.

The girls will be back in action on Monday when they travel to East Millbrook for their last doubleheader of the season!

4/20/17

Today, the softball team beat Wakefield in both games of their doubleheader, winning 13-2 and 15-1! The team has now won 5 games in a row and improved their record in the division to 5 wins and only 1 loss.

Casey Watkins pitched great in both games, striking out 16 Wakefield batters. Not only did she pitch well, but everyone on the team came to hit and played great defense!

Both games combined, Kendall Besely was on base 4 times and scored 4 runs, Emily Ruth Morgan had a hit and scored twice, Kyara Davis was on base 4 times and scored 3 times, Sierra Leclair had a hit and scored 6 times, Kate Eagan had 2 hits and scored twice, Haley Kahlman was on base 5 times and scored twice, Megan Lambeth had a hit and scored 3 times, Allie Nazarenko was on base once and scored, Joselyn Cabrera hit in a run, Lauren Martinez was once base once and scored a run, and Casey Watkins had 2 hits and scored 5 times!

The team travels to Leesville next Thursday (4/27) to take on the Lions at 4:15pm.

3/30/17

Today, the softball team swept the double header against Pine Hollow, winning by scores of 14-2 and 17-2! The team has now won 3 games in a row and are 3-1 in the division!

The pitching, hitting and defense for the Dolphins was superb and when you do those three things well, you win games. Casey Watkins was the starting pitcher in game 1 and then Megan Lambeth came in to close out the game. Megan Lambeth then started game 2.

All 12 players on the team contributed in both wins, by getting on base and scoring runs. The players who got hits for the Dolphins were Kendall Besley, Emily Ruth Morgan, Allyson Lima, Megan Lambeth with 2 hits, and Kyara Davis with 2 hits, including an inside the park homerun!

The Dolphins’ have an away game on Monday against East Wake. First pitch takes place at 4:15pm.

3/24/17

Yesterday, the softball team split their double header with West Millbrook, losing the first game 3-2, but then winning the second game 11-7! After losing 3 games in a row, the team finally got back on the winning track!

In game 1, West Millbrook scored 3 runs in the first inning but then Durant shut them down the rest of the way and was also able to score 2 runs on Allie Nazarenko’s triple! Scoring the 2 runs were Emily Ruth Morgan and Haley Kahlman.

In game 2, Casey Watkins pitched great, the defense played inspired, and the bats came to life scoring 11 runs! Kendall Besley had 2 hits and scored 3 runs, Casey Watkins had 3 hits and scored 2 runs, Cece Leclair had a hit and scored 2 runs, Emily Ruth Morgan had a hit, Allie Nazarenko scored a run, Kate Eagan had 2 hits, Megan Lambeth had a hit and scored a run, Allyson Lima and Joselyn Cabrera both scored runs.

The Dolphins’ will take on Pine Hollow at Durant next Thursday for a double header. First pitch takes place at 4:15pm.

3/6/17

The softball team played their first game of the season and beat Zebulon 10-2! Not only did Casey Watkins pitch great, striking out 10 batters, but the defense played well, and the team was able to get on base. Kendall Besley, Cece Leclair, Haley Kahlman, and Joselyn Cabera all had hits for the Dolphins. Scoring runs for the team were Kendall Besley, Casey Watkins, Sierra Leclair, Kyara Davis, Kate Eagan, Allie Nazarenko, and Haley Kahlman.

The Dolphins' have an away game on Thursday against East Wake!
