Green Hope High School Ticket To Play Athletics- Winter
All Green Hope High School students interested in participating in a winter sport must complete the “Ticket to Play” process prior to trying-out/practicing for any team. This process is REQUIRED to be completed prior to the beginning of each season.
Multi-sport athletes will need to get a new “Ticket” for each season in which they plan to participate.
The process is in place for students to submit all required paperwork to the Green Hope Sports Medicine Department. Students will be placed on Sport Specific List, that each coach will check to make sure that they are eligible before try-outs/practices. If there is a problem with eligibility the student will be contacted by the athletic department. If a student is not eligible to participate, whether due to grades or not registering for their sport on the Green Hope Athletics website, they will not be permitted to try-out/practice.
Ticket to Play sessions for WINTER SPORTS ONLY will take place in the Green Hope Auxiliary Gym during both A & B Smart Lunch on the following dates:
October 1, 2019 Track & Women’s Basketball
October 3, 2019 Men’s Basketball & Wrestling
October 7, 2019 Swimming
October 10, 2019 Catch All
During the Ticket to Play students will turn in the required WCPSS physical forms. The forms can be found by clicking on the “Documents and Forms” tab at www.greenhopeathletics.com. The North Carolina Sport Pre-Participation Examination Form needs to be filled in, signed & dated by a practicing healthcare provider, either MD, DO, PA, or NP. Other healthcare providers are prohibited from filling out the Examination form. If students have already submitted their paperwork to Mrs. Williams or Mrs. Davidson they will not need to bring in a copy during these dates. These students must still come to check in with the Sports Medicine staff on one of these specified dates.
To complete the Ticket to Play process, students/family must register for the Winter Sport they want to play. The registration tab is located at www.greenhopeathletics.com. If you have not registered already, the family must make an account with Sports Engine and then register for the sport by clicking on the tab that is assigned to the sport.
