On 05/29/20 Athletic Director Chad Smothers met with the NCHSAA who provided some calendar updates. These updates have been made to the website and include:
- Confirmed dead period weeks (no work-outs or meetings with players are allowed):
- June 1-June 15th – (Continuation of the active dead period through AT LEAST June 15th)
- June 27th – July 4th
- July 18th – July 25th
*If your family is planning a summer vacation, please do so during these “dead” weeks!
- NCHSAA has NOT given a definitive start date for when summer workouts can resume so we have made a note that times are TBA until we receive more clarity on the date and restrictions that we will come back to.
- NCHSAA has indicated that once allowed, work-outs will be limited to 25 people outside and 10 people inside at one time (this is subject to change). Coaches are making plans on how this can be done most effectively (e.g., by positions/groups or JV at one time, Varsity at another). Until we are given a definite start date and restrictions/guidelines, though, no specific plans can be made. PLEASE be patient and flexible as the coaches do their best to not only ensure your player is allowed to work-out but that the work-outs are done in a manner that complies with all NCHSAA rules and, more importantly, in a way that protects the safety of your child.
