Final fall sport has kicked off and the Cross Country team did so in style by winning their first dual meet of the season at Enloe. The Women got off to a fast start, taking all three of the top spots in the race. Senior, Kaylie Hinckley led that group by finishing in 12:15. One of the Wildcats' top runner's last season was pleased with the performance against the Eagles.
"It is early in the season so we aren't necessarily a finished product. But I really liked our toughness towards the end of the race, it will definitely help us prepare for races against some of the state's top schools later in the season."
On the Men's side, Coach Schneidewind's team also picked up a victory by claiming the top three spots. It was a trio of juniors who crossed the finish line first for Millbrook. Weston Clayton led all runners with a sub-10 finish at 9:59. Luke Gostling and Tucker Cera came in right on Clayton's heels with a fist-bump tie in 10:02. Ryan and Andy Bennison also impressed as they posted large personal bests from last season.
Millbrook hosts their first race of the season next Wednesday night as the Wake Forest Cougars pay visit to the Millbrook Exchange Park at 6:00 PM. For more information, follow us on Twitter at @Millbrook_SBC.
