Millbrook senior Cross Country runner, Kaylie Hinckley has been named the Millbrook PDQ Athlete of the Week for the week of September 14th.
The Wildcats enter Wednesday's marquee matchup vs. Broughton, 2-0 in dual meets. Hinckley has finished first in the girls portion of both races. On Wednesday night, she turned in one of her more impressive runs as she helped lead Millbrook -who was down several key runners- to a 21-38 win over Wake Forest. Due to the weather that night, the race was shortened to a 3K at Millbrook Exchange Park which is one of the tougher locations to run a 3K in the area. Kaylie crossed the finish line in 12:52 to help capture the win. She finished the Wildcats' first race of the season two weeks ago with a 12:15 against Enloe. Hinckley entered the season as Millbrook's top senior runner and she has lived up to that billing so far as she has been named PDQ Athlete of the Week.
Kaylie Hinckley and the Wildcats are at home next on Wednesday evening as they host Broughton High School.
The Millbrook PDQ Athlete of the Week award is awarded weekly to a student-athlete who was a major contributor for their team during the previous week, these athletes are ones with a strong work ethic and are in good standing academically at Millbrook.
