It may not have been the ending to the regular season that they wished for but Millbrook Women's Tennis has lots of positives to look forward to as they venture into the postseason and beyond.

They matched their 2014 record of 7-7 with an 8-1 loss to Leesville on Monday afternoon. It was an almost identical outcome to the Wildcats' previous match against the Pride from a month ago. #1 Brianna Taranto retired in the second set to Lauren Robbins, 6-0, 5-2. #3 Rachel Gittelman finished her sophomore singles season with a 6-1, 6-1 loss to Clare Stull. The final three spots were occupied by seniors on their final regular season match at Millbrook. #4 Mackinley Sloan was defeated by Ariana Pirzadeh 6-0, 6-1. #5 Katie LeFevre fell to Lindsay Stanley, 6-1, 6-1 and #6 Hannah Shifman put up a great battle against Irene Michalakis before falling in a tiebreaker 6-1, 7-6 (9-7).

Millbrook's only victory came in singles as #2 Shea Cirillo picked up her second win this season against Callie Michaud of Leesville, 6-2, 2-6, 10-7. With the win, Shea finished the season as with the team's top singles record at 10-4. The Wildcat Freshman duo of Cirillo and Brianna Taranto finished their first career regular season with a combined singles record of 19-9.

Cirillo/Olson, DeMartino/LeFevre, and Day/Luckinbill all fell in the doubles portion of the match. Going into next season, doubles play will be something that Millbrook will look to improve on as they finished the season 11-31 in doubles.

Next up for Millbrook is the 2015 Cap-8 Tournament from Millbrook Exchange Park. The two day event kicks off on Tuesday just after 12PM. The Wildcats will play their top two, Brianna Taranto and Shea Cirillo in the singles portion of the tournament and their 3-6 players, Rachel Gittelman/Mackinley Sloan and Katie LeFevre/Hannah Shifman in the doubles portion.
