Millbrook Men's Soccer midfielder, Ian Pearlswig has been named the Millbrook PDQ Athlete of the Week for the week of October 26th.
The junior has helped lead the Wildcats offensively over the course of the last three weeks as they attempt to make a late season playoff push. In their last seven games, Pearlswig and the Wildcats are 3-2-2 with a total of 12 goals scored. The 5'9 junior has scored 3 of those 12 goals along with adding an assist. Last week, Millbrook went 1-0-1 against Wakefield and Heritage. In the 2-1 win vs. the Wolverines, Ian had the assist on Gilbert Rebollar's game winning goal. Two nights later, he scored in the final five minutes of regulation to force a 1-1 draw vs. Heritage. He currently has 5 goals and 3 assists going into the final week of the regular season.
Next up for the Wildcats is a trip to Leesville on Tuesday night to battle the Pride. Leesville got the best of Millbrook three weeks back on a goal in the final minute of the game. That 4-3 loss was the start of Ian Pearlswig's torrid run as he scored on a penalty kick in the first half to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead.
The Millbrook PDQ Athlete of the Week award is awarded weekly to a student-athlete who was a major contributor for their team during the previous week, these athletes are ones with a strong work ethic and are in good standing academically at Millbrook. The award is chosen each week in consultation with coaches and the administration.
