WCPSS Weekly Round Up

WCPSS football teams commenced week 4 of regular season competition last week. We saw many positive results and many teams headed in the right direction as the prep for conference play begins to narrow. If you missed any of the exciting match-ups, read below for a complete list of scores and updates.

Friday, September 15

Heritage def. Jordan, 49-10

Heritage continued their unbeaten streak last Friday night with a 30 point victory over Jordan. The team advances their record to 5-0 on the season.

Fuquay-Varina def. Cleveland, 27-21

Fuquay-Varina earned their third consecutive win last week. The Bengals advance their record to 3-1 on the season while Cleveland drops to 2-3.

Rolesville def. Broughton, 34-6

Rolesville made a comeback last week after suffering a tough loss the previous week. The Rams proved very strong over Broughton allowing just six points on the night. Rolesville improves to 2-3 on the season while Broughton holds at 1-4.

Sanderson def. Green Hope, 22-21

Just one point separated these two teams last Friday night. Sanderson was able to push through for the victory forcing Green Hope to drop their second games of the season. Both teams hold an overall record of 3-2.

Middle Creek def. Panther Creek, 56-14

Middle Creek secured another win last week defeating Panther Creek by a score of 56-14. Middle Creek improves their to 3-2 on the season. Panther Creek will continue to search for their first win of the season as they are set to take on Apex next week.

Holly Springs def. Cary, 33-16

Holly Springs bounced back after a tough loss last week to defeat Cary by seventeen points. The Golden Hawks improve their record to 2-3 on the season while Cary even out to 2-2.

Knightdale def. Enloe, 37-13

Knightdale secured their second consecutive win of the regular season last Friday night. Both teams hold a record of 3-2 on the season.

Leesville Road def. Garner, 28-21

Just one touchdown kept Garner from another win last week as Leesville Road edged out the Trojans, 28-21. Leesville Road improves their record to 3-2 while Garner drops to 1-4.

Millbrook def. Apex, 41-14

Millbrook gave a strong performance last week with a twenty-seven point victory over Apex. Millbrook improves their record to 2-3 on the season while Apex will continue to make improvements in search of their first win.

Wake Forest def. Southern, 35-0

Wake Forest shut out non-conference competitor, Southern, last Friday night. The Cougars remain undefeated on the season at 5-0.

Athens Drive def. Apex Friendship, 22-21

Just one point separated Athens Drive and Apex Friendship last week in a nail-biting match up. The Jaguars were able to hold off Apex Friendship and secure the win. They move to 3-2 on the season while Apex Friendship evens out to 2-2 overall.

SRMHS def. East Wake, 54-41

SRMHS  secured their second consecutive win last week defeating East Wake by thirteen points on the night. The team is now 3-2 on the season. Positive takeaway for East Wake last week as the team nearly matched their record for most points scored during a game for the 2017 season.

South Durham def. Wakefield, 21-14

Wakefield gave a strong performance last week but was unable to pull out a win. The team dropped another game putting them at 0-5 on the season.

WCPSS men’s soccer completed another round of non-conference match-ups last week.
