WCPSS Athletics Weekly Round Up

WCPSS football teams competed in the final week of conference match-ups last Friday night. We saw a lot of great results and even more teams qualifying for post season play. Friday, November 3

Jordan def. Cary, 33-23

Cary dropped their final Triangle 6 conference match-up to Jordan by just ten points. The Imps conclude the regular season with an overall record of 4-7.


Garner def. Middle Creek, 28-26

Garner secured their sixth straight win defeating a great Middle Creek team by just two points! The win advances the Trojans to 7-4 on the season while Middle Creek concludes at 8-3.


Wake Forest def. Heritage, 38-14

Wake Forest rounds out the season with an undefeated 11-0 record defeating Heritage last Friday night. This was the Huskies only loss on the season while the Cougars secure a first round playoff bye with the win!


Fuquay-Varina def. Holly Springs, 34-14

Fuquay-Varina secured their final South Wake Athletic conference victory over Holly Springs last week. The win comes after two previous losses. The Bengals conclude the season with an overall record of 7-4 while Holly Springs finishes at 2-9.


Rolesville def. Corinth Holders, 27-14

Rolesville displayed a strong performance over Corinth Holders last Friday night. The Rams showed great perseverance after coming back from three consecutive losses in previous weeks. They advance their overall record to 4-7 on the season.


Green Hope def. Panther Creek, 52-20

Green Hope secured their sixth consecutive win last Friday night. The Falcons nearly matched their season high points with 52 on the night. The team concludes the season with an overall record of 9-0 with Panther Creek was unable to find success.


Knightdale def. Wakefield, 27-14

Knightdale secured another conference win over Wakefield last Friday night. The win qualified the Knights for post season play! They round out the season with an overall record of 6-5 while Wakefield remained unable to secure a win.


Millbrook def. Broughton, 34-14

Millbrook secured a 20-point victory over Cap 7 conference opponent Broughton last week. The win advances Millbrook’s overall record to 5-6 on the season while Broughton drops to 2-9.


Athens Drive def. Riverside, 47-6

Athens Drive put on another great performance last Friday night during their 41-point victory over Riverside. Credit to the Jaguars defense who only allowed six points on the night! The team concludes the season with an overall record of 7-4.


Cardinal Gibbons def. Enloe, 42-28

Enloe dropped their final regular season game to Cardinal Gibbons last Friday night. The team rounds out the season with an overall record of 4-7.


Apex Friendship def. Apex, 37-20

Apex Friendship earned their third straight win over Apex last week. The Patriots improve their record to a positive 6-5 on the season while Apex drops to 8-3.


Sanderson def. SRMHS, 36-21

Sanderson also secured their third straight win after a loss early in October. The Spartans advance their record to 8-3 on the season while SRMHS drops to 4-7.


East Wake def. Smithfield Selma, 44-7

East Wake dominated Smithfield Selma for their final Greater Neuse conference win of the season. The Warriors defense played a great game only allowing seven points on the night! The team concludes the season with an overall record of 3-7.

Men's Soccer

WCPSS men’s soccer teams competed in the first two rounds of their NCHSAA playoff season. Several WCPSS programs will continue on in their chase to the State Championship. Congratulations to Green Hope volleyball team for their NCHSAA 4A State Championship! The Falcons shut-out Hough 3-0 maintaining their undefeated season record.

Women's Tennis

Green Hope women’s tennis team took home the NCHSAA Dual Team State Championship over the weekend defeating many teams from across the state! Congratulations to all WCPSS teams who qualified for the event!

Cross Country

The NCHSAA Cross Country State Championships also took place over the weekend. Congratulations to the Green Hope women’s cross country team who placed runner-up and the Green Hope men’s cross country team who brought home another state championship for the Falcons!
