Criteria for Selection
The nominee must, during and following his/her career at Garner, have demonstrated the pride, spirit, and success that exemplify Garner Athletics.
Any member of the Garner High School Staff (past or present) or community member (past or present) may nominate.
Nomination deadline will be August 1st of each year. Selection will take place by October 1st. Recognition and Induction ceremonies will take place in October and May of each school year.
A Hall of Fame selection committee will be comprised of persons selected by the Principal and Athletic Director. The committee will consist of a minimum of five (5) persons, including the Principal and Athletic Director, as well as at least three (3) additional persons, including at least one representative from the Garner Trojan Club.
Nominees must receive a majority of the votes from the selection committee to be granted the honor.
A maximum of five (5) inductees (individual/coach, team, at-large) will be inducted each year at a banquet in May. The inductee(s) will receive suitable awards and a plaque to be displayed in the Athletics Hall of Fame section at the high school.
Nominations must include a written resume of the nominee’s years, service, and accomplishments (along with current address and phone number).
