All students trying out for Spring Sports must have their eligibility verified prior to being able to participate

Spring 2018 Boys and Girls Track Tryouts

Tryouts:  February 12 & 13

In order to participate in tryouts, you must have the following paperwork filled out and submitted to Mr. Adams, Coach. West, or Coach Newby on or before Wednesday, February 7. You can download all forms on the athletic’s website.

  • Wake County participation form with insurance information
  • A current physical signed by a physician (a physical is valid for 365 days)
  • Concussion forms signed by parent and player

What you need to bring to tryouts:

  • Tennis shoes/running shoes
  • Shorts/jogging pants
  • Tee shirt/long sleeve
  • Sweats (if it’s cold)
  • Water bottle

*Dress appropriately for the weather

Tryout Schedule: Practice from 3:15-4:45 (rides must be picked up in the bus loop by 5:00)

February 12 – 1 mile, 100m, & Shot Put

February 13 – 800m, 400m & field events

*Final cuts will be posted Tuesday February 13 at 6:00 on the track website

*Students can try out for as many or as few events as they want to, but are expected to be at both days of tryouts.

Athletes will be evaluated on the following criteria during tryouts:

Form, technique, speed, strength, coachability, endurance, and potential.

First Day of Practice: Wednesday, February 14

Parent Meeting: Thursday, February 15 at 5:00 in the auditorium
