Danny Strong - Head Men's Varsity Basketball Coach
Danny Strong is a former NCSU and professional basketball player from Great Falls, SC. Danny played for the NCSU Wolfpack until 1997 before playing professional in the European basketball leagues. Danny retired
from professional play in May 2012 after playing for 15 years. During his professional career, he made four all-star appearances in the French National Basketball League, lead his team to victory in the 2005 French Cup Championship, he was the all-star MVP in the Portuguese
National Basketball League, and served 9 years as team captain for various teams. Danny’s leadership on and off the court and commitment to the youth has been prevalent throughout his career. Danny’s fluency in French enabled him to orient new foreign and US team mates to the French culture and assist them with language translation. Danny also worked with multiple youth organizations and schools throughout Europe to encourage kids to do their best.
Danny returned to Raleigh May 2012 to graduate from NCSU with a BA in Sociology. Prior to be named the Varsity Coach at Fuquay Varina High School, Danny served as an assistant coach at South East Raleigh High School. In his spare time, Danny works with local youth serving as the basketball program director for i9 Sports in Cary, and is the founder of The Strong Center, an organization dedicated to outreach and teaching fundamentals for both basketball and football.
Danny is married to professional basketball player Allison Feaster, and they have a daughter, Sarah.
