Men’s 2023 Spring Season

• Try-out dates: February 13-17, February 20-24, must attend all days
• Try-outs will be held at Apex High School at the tennis courts from 2:45pm – 4:45am
• The team will be determined the week of February 20th
• First Contest date: February 27th
• In July, there will be mixed hitting practices (not required) before the Women’s tryouts for fun. Must have all required paperwork and physical submitted and approved to participate. You will be contacted by the email(s) you put in to DragonFly in early July.

Participants must complete the WCPSS online Athletic Registration Form prior to participation!  All athletes are asked to wear appropriate tennis attire, tennis shoes, visor/hat (if desired), bring 2 rackets, water bottle, towel, etc.

Spring 2022 Highlights:

• 4th in new conference, SWAC
• Ethan Garcia and Ryan Suciu played doubles, both freshmen. Placed 4th at Conference, 2nd at Regionals, and made it to the second round at State. Defeated Cardinal Gibbons first round and lost in a third set against Hough High School

Summary of the Apex Men's 2021 Season:
This season of 2021 was a year of challenges and diversities.  There were 8 graduating seniors in 2020, 2021 was a rebuilding season for the Men’s Tennis Team.  The team bonded and displayed extreme team building qualities that we will look into expanding on into the 2022 season.  We have a remarkable group of young men and I look forward to seeing them improve and achieve their goals for next season.

Congrats to Pranav Kumara, he was our only Senior, we wish him the very best as he continues his studies at NC State.

I especially want to congratulate Anton McCloskey for being the 2021 Individual Conference Champion for the SWAC Conference!  Anton qualified for Regionals and made it to the Quarters-finals, which was played in Pinehurst.  A great achievement and we look forward to what next year will bring.

Thanks to the additional coaches that helped along the way, Coach Cicin, Coach Thomas, Coach Brown, and Coach Narula. Go, Cougars!

Summary of the Apex Men’s 2019 Fall Season:

• The season was cancelled after the 3rd conference match due to Coronavirus. 
• The team was 3-0
• There were 8 seniors on the 2019 Fall team

Summary of the Apex Men’s 2018 Fall Season:

• 1st place in SWAC conference with a 9-1 conference record (tied with MC)
• Pascal Le (SR) was SWAC Individual Conference Champion
• Pascal Le was Regional Runner-Up
• Pascal Le lost in the Quarterfinals of the NCHSAA State Championship
• Pascal Le, Doug Cicin, Keegan Merck and Donald Worsley all qualified for Regionals. Making them All-Conference!
• The team lost in the 2nd round of Dual Team competition to Enloe, after beating Pinecrest in the 1st round.
